Thinking About AI Art with Dominic McIver Lopes in Porto

On February 6, at the Batalha Centro de Cinema, I had the pleasure of taking part in the Porto session of the symposium with Dominic McIver Lopes. The roundtable brought together Vítor Guerreiro, Gonçalo Marcelo, and myself, and I presented a talk titled “In what sense could AI Systems be artists?”. The discussion was followed by Dominic McIver Lopes’s lecture “AI Art and Artists: What They Are, What They Could Be, What They Should be”, closing a lively and inspiring afternoon of exchange on aesthetics and technology.
